A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

An underbelly muffler?

  • Thread starter Thread starter SDK

A slipon literally slips on and clamps/bolts to the midpipe on the header. As mentioned, some of them have a midpipe already attached and some bolt onto a midpipe on the header.

The smaller the muffler, the louder the exhaust sound is. Vice versa is true, the bigger the muffler, the quieter it is. That G&G GP style exhaust on my Gixxer is LOUD especially at high RPM. As in bleeding ears without good earplugs. ;)

Here's a trackday vid of my bike/exhaust pictured above, I'm the second rider in the video.

This custom job on a local 1000S looks pretty cool, but it will obviously be real loud.8-[

yeah thats what i'm looking for not the loudness part but i wonder if the headers can be into on by the time it is bent under the bike so a muffler will just sit on the bottom?

In "Streetfighters" magazine several months back a guy did a CBR600F2/3 up and did something very interesting with the exhaust: he went 4-2-1 collecting into "1" pipe just as it went under the bike, and the head-pipes all went to one side, under the bike as the '1' pipe approached the back of the bike he put a "U" bend into the pipe and as soon as the pipe was pointing back towards the front of the bike he put an oval shaped cannister on it (with minimal baffling). Since the exhaust is an 'open' can he put this cool SuperTrapp-like end cap on it but spaced it about 2" from the end, this keeps rock chips from bouncing up into your front-facing under-bike exhaust cannister.

If I didn't explain this well, it's just a pipe that turns around underneath the bike and leaves the can under the oil-pan pointing towards the front of the bike.

The owner claimed that this particular pipe was the only performance change he made to the bike and that now the bike has unbelievable power (claims of hanging with his buddy's first gen gixxer thou...his claim, not mine). Anyway, it's in one of my magazines from (I'm guessing) around a year ago.

Food for thought,
