A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Horrible ain't it!

I had a similar carb overflow problem (when I set the petcock to prime) before I stripped, cleaned and replaced the o-rings in the carbs. I was advised it was likely a sticky float (which turned out to be correct) Try gently tapping the underside of the #4 bowl with the plastic handle of a screw driver (when the bowl is full) to see if it stops the overflowing.

Did you replace the the Large O-rings on the carb boots that are mounted on the engine? (accessed by removing the boots) Leaking O-rings might explain the sound of air sucking that you are hearing.

Did you replace all the O-rings in the carbs itself when you cleaned them? What did you clean them with?

I replaced all rings from cycleorings.com they are great. Including the intake orings. When I opened carbs they were very very clean. You can tell they were dipped recently. I hit them with carb cleaner spray from napa (In every crack and crevis) and then put on new o rings and new bowl gaskets.

Before I took them down they did the same thing (Dripping from #4 bowl drain) but it wouldn't even run then. So I am now taking airbox off to get to carb bowl screws and I'm going to drop floats to 24mm till it stops leaking. Does this sound like a decent aproach?

To be honest I ain't the person to ask, but given the advice in this thread it woud seem logical to me. Good luck

Thanks to all She is purring like a kitten after milk

Hey wanted to give a thanks to all for the advice and help I used every piece and she is running like she's new. As for the gas drip after four on and off's upside down with the bowl I used my eye and some needle noses to bend it down "pretty good" and wala \\:D/ no more leak. Then I synced the carbs flucuation was very small maybe quarter of an inch with the Z1 $50 vacuum gauges. (FYI) I took her and filled her with gas and air up tires. She was sluggish at first but after running that trip she runs like a champ now:) I could not have done this with out Thegsresources and the wonderful people that make up this club. A special thanks to Nessism, TKent02, Steve and Kristi'sgs550!!!!!! Attached is a Pic It has a Mirage Purple to green (Duplicolor Kits 2) 78' GS750 B 78,000 but you wouldn't guess now. I also have a 78' GL1000 Goldwing, but plan to sell that as Suzuki's seem to handle much better!

Here is what I started with
