DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just had my first deer encounter for 2018 shortly after leaving my driveway on the Bandit at sundown. I'm happy to report that once again, deer zero, Earl 1. A quick swerve towards his tail and he was past. I seem to be averaging ten or twelve encounters each year and it's getting so that I don't even get particularly concerned, just go into reflex mode. I'm getting more practice at this than I want. heh eh

How's the buzzard count?

Oh, Dear ! A deer !

I may see deer far off in a field several-many times a year, about anytime out of town as approach sundown. Earlier in evening are just a few steps out of the wood into the fields, later in the evening are further out into the fields.

But, man, you sure have them jumping into the road by you a lot.

.

Glad you're safe Earl...those pesky deer need to stay in the meadow! (Not!) I know they need to hide in the brush.

It's funny you mention that. It isn't unusual to see a herd of cows in a meadow/pasture with deer mixed in grazing beside them.

Damn deer never pay attention to the signs and use the crosswalk !

Not to mention speed limits and double yellow lines. On top of everything else the deer do, my across the road neighbor is missing four cows, which I suspect have eloped with their deer friends. heh eh

I found myself threading through a whole herd after coming around a corner one evening, kind of like doing cones with four legs.

That would be interesting. I probably would have stopped and watched them for for a bit. heh

Not much time for anything but dodge em....sheeeesh you would think the place belonged to them or something.

Yep, people often forget when they encounter deer that the deer are at home and they are the ones intruding.

I did an experiment once. I came across a group of deer in the road at night and laid on the horn. They went apesh!t.
No horn they just wander along.
The real scary ones are running flat out for some damn reason.

I hate deer.

I'll refrain from posting the x-ray...

Just when you think you have the swerve and miss down, the unpredictable deer will do something "unpredictable". Be careful.

Loud pipes save lives. Put some straight pipes on that B-12 Earl.

Actually, I was riding in West Virginia and lost track of time. Got to be dusk, then dark and I was an hour or so away from my destination. I was on my ZZR 1200, with Two Bro's after market slip ons. I was worried about the deer, but saw several run away as I approached. Thought that was interesting. The other method I have, if opportunity is there, is to get close to a car in front and use it as a blocker of sorts. Worked that time anyway.

As for Deer, sorry guys, I try every year during hunting season, but can't kill them all. :-\\\

Actually, all the sound of a motorcycle pipe is moving rearwards out of the exhaust. I can't hear a loud bike behind me at all when I'm riding or driving. All loud pipes do is destroy your hearing and pi-ss off every driver beside or behind you and the homeowners on the roads you ride on. They're a great way to make motorcycle haters.
