A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So, Ive done a little bit more on the bike.

Rear wheel fitted:

Looking a little more like a motorbike

Handlebars & indicators mocked up

The dreaded wire loom is next on the 'to do' list.

Right, bit more to up date:

The bike is off the wooden box & onto it's main stand

Carbs were next on the list:

Stripped & media blasted

I haven't gone berserk on the polishing, because I intend to ride the bike, rather than having it as a show piece.
Anyways: they are all all built up with new 'o' rings. Ive bench sync'd them, so all i need to do is fit them & get it plumbed in!!!!

Next on the list is the wiring.....bit of a nightmare when you are clueless about wiring. At least I haven't let all the smoke out of the wires (yet )

Getting there slowly.

I've also looked at the switch gear, which was originally like this (sorry about the photo, but you get the idea)

Media blasted, primed & painted, now looks like this:

Really pleased with the outcome!

So abit more of an update (sorry I've not posted for a while)

The wiring loom is pretty much in, but I'm struggling with the connector that connects the Oil pressure sensor to the loom (I've got the wire, just not the connect) anyone got a photo, part number, or solution as to how I connect it up?

I have tidied up the loom quiet a bit, replaced multis block etc, & I have replaced the old fuse, with a more modern blade type.

The instrument panel is also coming along slowly, again tiding up the connectors etc. The gear indicator (digital one) on the dash is broken, so Ive looking at trying to source a replacement (not a change on this side of the pond, so it may be left off the bike)

Any ways photos:

Some more photos (can't post a load of images about a wiring loom & not post these), with the tank & seat mocked up

Hopefully not, got to get it running now! Got a slight issue with the points & timing (posted a question over there, so we'll see) hopefully up & running in a couple of weeks

Forget points, just put in a dyna S and be done with it forever!

Would like to but can't afford to! Too much money right now, looks like i will have to persevere

Understood, old bikes can cost a fortune to restore. Though loosing points not only saves aggravation, but electronic ignition in my past experience just makes the vehicle perform better, and more consistently. Back in the day I couldn't tell you how many times I had to set points with a match pack just to get my car to start again.
