    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bison World

Bison World

I ride past this shop called Bison World in Noblesville, IN every now and then. I finally stopped to see what they carried. A nice variety of bison, elk, pork, and beef. Also some taxidermy. I had enough bison burgers, hot dogs, chili, and "award-winning" stew while out west to know that it's not special enough to pay a premium for. I never did find a bison steak so I could just taste the meat.

Took the bike out to run all that damm Stabil out of it. She just did not run right, hesitating, down on power, wanting to stall at traffic lights.
Rode out SR67 in Indy (a.k.a. Pendleton Pike). Went into Fortville, where they have a pink elephant outside a liquor store:

Kept on SR67, passed by the Pendleton State Prison. From the Police Station across the street:

Finally hit I-69 and headed back toward Indy. Needed a tag for the riding game, which was a sporting goods store:

Got all the Stabil out, filled up with Shell Premium, put about 20 more miles on her, finally running right. Thank goodness, I thought it was my tune.

Went for a ride with my buddy Eddie Lawson (Glenn:p) today. Planned on a longer ride but it was looking like rain so we stayed close to home. This pic was taken in our beautiful harbour where we went to a great seafood place called Red Fish-Blue Fish for lunch. I love my bike but I must say I sure like Glenn's too!:)

bwringer and I were wrenching on my GS. When we were done, we decided a ride was in order. With Brian in the lead, we searched for somewhat twisty roads around where I live (McCordsville, IN). We followed some small country roads, found a couple of twisties on a really bumpy road, then started to follow Fall Creek (main feed for Geist Reservoir). We wandered about for a while, then entered the town of Pendleton and passed a park called Fall Park. We made a u-turn and went into the park area, where we found the peace and tranquility of small town America. Very nice, quiet, safe. We also saw a really neat little water dam, just crying for us to post on GSR:

We had a very relaxing time, got to see some countryside we had never seen before, just a nice end to a nice weekend.
 
I went for a 300 mile ride on Saturday after wrenching on the 1100G Thursday and Friday. No pictures though, batteries were dead in my camera.:mad:
So, here are some picts from today's ride, and a comparison from the same road and vantage point about this time of month last year.

Inside the little building is Pine River's first fire engine. It's a horse drawn hand pumper.
 
Somehow we are gonna pay, flood, fire, pestilence, Canada, or snow. Maybe not.:rolleyes:

I have been meaning to post rides that I take every weekend with my significant other. We go out every weekend somewhere, somehow. My wife rides her trusty Yamaha YS250 and I the GS650GLD or the XS650. We cover an average 400 kms every Saturday or Sunday or a combo of days. We are lucky to live in a country, or part of the world where we can ride year around. Mexico, El Salvador, all the way to Costa Rica. As a routine, it's the wife and I alone, but in February I rode to Costa Rica with a group of BMW riders. 4 1200GSs, 2 F800s, 1 R1100GS, two Weestroms, a Transalp a Yamaha XT660 and I. What a trip. These pics are from last weekend though. We take our bikes on all kinds of terrains...enjoy

I used to ride the 250cc version when I was 15-16 years old! (Is that a 250?)

Ran a few errands on the wife's bike. Just a 10 mile loop on the first day of spring.
My carbs are sitting in water and vinegar for the last 5 days.
I usually can't leave something undone that long, but I'm waiting on emulsion tubes and O-rings for my sling shot carbs.

Why do you? and Why would it be wrong:twistedevil:.

In all honesty the bike is a great performer and we have taken it to places you wouldn't consider, but emotionally it does nothing for me. She has put 47,000 kms on it in just over two years, weekend rides, mostly.:D
 
Yes I did, and this is what was waiting at home for me.

Thanks for sharing. Those pictures were fantastic. Talk about an old durable GS!! right along side all the new BMW's, good on you. Loved all the food photo's. How did the bike hold up on the trip? and the scenery, wow. Not just he views but the local towns and little places, man I would love to do that trip. Very nice indeed.

hehehe, thanks. When I showed up with my OLD LADY, everyone else was shocked :eek:. I had two issues with her. half way through Honduras, I hit a couple of 4 inch deep potholes at 60 mph. Both rims had dings, but the front one was severe enough to let some air out. So I had to pump air at every gas fill up. That was on the way to Costa Rica. So I rode like that for 1400 additional miles. I was unable to have it fixed, due to the fact that it would stop the trip for 12 people for 2 days, and I was not able to secure a 19" innertube anywhere. Another issue was that the timing chain started to make loud noises. In Costa Rica, I was able to reset the tensor and that was that. The main issue for me was the gastank size and Mileage. Running with this BMrs meant going an average of 80 mph, and at that speed, I only got 34 mpg on a 2.5 gal tank. Those guys were still getting 45 mpg on their camel size tanks!!!!

As a result from my Guatemala-Costa Rica trip, I had to go from the 650 to a 1100 wheel I found brand new at the dealership for USD$30.

Too bad they don't have a matching rear one, since it is a G.
