    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I went for 3 today !

I picked up my big Kawi from the shop - rode it home and out of respect for the new engine let it cool off, and jumped on the GS1100 and took off again.

The I asked the wife to put on some long pants and we went out into a beautiful night, and cruised the side streets. Life is good.

My wife and I took the 1100 up Island to a little town called Chemainus. Pretty little tourist town. Had lunch on this patio...table of Harley huys came up to me to ask me about my bike...asked "did you restore it yourself"? Hehe... they were a little surprised that it was all stock except for the new pipes. Nice guys and very complimentary about my bike.:)

This is in Cowichan Bay. We live in a beautiful place, that's for sure.
This was also the first long ride with the jet kit and new V&H...

Played hooky Monday and rode Mulholland Highway in SoCal. Nice ride, beautiful scenery. Rode back on PCH. My ass and back were aching by the end of the trip :)

That bike looks brand new. Is that because it gets garaged for 9 months out of the year? :p

Very nice! I ran across [not literally] a monster water turtle on the way to an interview for grad school while driving the cage. He got a little grumpy at me when I picked him up to move him off the asphalt and tried valiantly to pee on me. I keep finding these turtles and I'm going to start to wonder if I've got another spirit animal. :lol:

My bike got rode ALL YEAR LONG! I my have gone a week, maybe ten days with out riding in the last two years. I put 20000km (13000mi) on my 750 alone. We don't get snow here. But don't tell anyone.:D

THis evening rode out thru area of blueberry fields, corn fields, and nursery plantations.
No turtles for Mr. Lankworthy.
But did see this.

It stood there the whole time I went past, turned back, did uturn in road, got off bike, got out camera and took pictures.
Just staring at me. Probably didn't know what that faceless creature was. (fullface helmet and all).

Okay ride went fine, bike was great, not one hiccup. Got skunked on the prize drawing though...oh well. Ah one correction, tach is way slow. Barely goes past 4,500 rpms. The shaft/bushing were freed upped and soaked for a week with triflow oil. Works smoothly, just not displaying the correct rpms.

Haha we ran out of those good curves before getting round the blockage... but part 5 will have more good curves :)

Love that picture,and the cycle. By the way ive seen some here spell it Kanada. is that an inside joke only to be known by those north of the border?

Grand Rapids, Blues On The Mall, Tommy Castro

Rode into Grand Rapids yesterday evening. Took road that follows along the river..




Went to Blues On The Mall.
Nearby they have this one parking lot that is for motorcycles only for this occasion. Hundreds of bikes.
Complete with beer sales, in the parking lot. scheesch.
I think I saw one other helmet, and maybe three other jackets (although leather with "Outlaw MC" patches).


I walked over to where the band was playing and were the food vendors were.



Band was great.
Food vendors good. Has great Lamb Eyro and good sweat-sour chicken and vegitable dish.

Some friends of mine got there real early so they could sit right up front.

Weather forcast Had been predicted t-storms all day. It looked to me like the storm coulds had passed by late in afternoon, and next batch of storm clouds maybe not coming through till late at night.
I was wrong.

Band played without break for about hour and half.
Then some dark clouds rolling in.
Started raining just as I was leaving. I was putting on rain gear as most all the other mo'cycle were heading out. Was fun to just stand there, in rain, wearing raingear, watching the helmet-less jacket-less guys riding out in what looked like a panic.
And was pouring before I got out of downtown and on highway. Rained hard most of the way home.

Finally....

Finally....

Well I finally went out for a longer ride than just the daily commute to work and back, stopped off at one of my favorite spots to take a few pictures, and even had a buddy out on his first ride with his new to him CB600RR, it was his first time out, he just got the bike and his license not more than a week ago...

we were out for about an hour and a half.....I still need to figure out why my bike won't idle and I noticed as it got warmer and at normal temperature it was struggling more in keeping idle, but that is for another thread...
