A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Had a nice mild 50 degree day after the cold rain/snow over the weekend today so I took off of work early to go out to the Air Force Base Hospital's Emergency Room and since my step-son borrowed my truck, his car is in the shop, I rode the Bandit out there and back. I took the highway out there, about 25 miles, but decided to come back the slightly longer and more fun way giving myself about 65 miles for the afternoon. The ride back felt good although the reason I went to the hospital kept any enthusiasm in check; I'll ask folks for advice on that in a different thread. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, in the mid-60s, so I may try to get out after work for a little while since we head back to the 30s and low 40s by the weekend.

Maybe you can take a ride over to Steve's tomorrow and try to get Stator's Journal back... 🤔

I got in 175 miles today in the sweltering heat of 72?. Man it felt good. Yesterday was 140 miles with temps in the low to mid 60's.

Tonight's low is projected at 42? and tomorrow's high is forecast to be only 45?. May can't get here too soon for me.

grrrrr. Southerners and their motorcycle riding stories. grumblegrumble.

On a positive note, I'm thinking it's time to get out the sled cuz all we need is a couple more inches of snow.

Dern things use a lot of gas though.

21'F on my ride in, Snow and ice... Having 3 wheels for this stuff is awesome! Just a new type of riding, I feel like a noob all over again!

Less Fuel than a sled, last tanks was still 70MPG. I think I might get better as I found a new route that keeps my speed in the 40's

Cheers!

That's very cool J. I wonder how something like that would work on a gz250. We still have one of those. Can't bring myself to sell it.

The Sidecar is a totally different ride. It's like riding a Honda ATC but a butt load sketchier, right hand turns are most freaky. There is a reason I put a full sized tractor battery in the chair... Sure it cranks like nothing on freezing day but I can also now turn right.

I would recommend it though, the small bike makes a great entry to the hack "experience", Joe should be able to help you on building something custom. I saw a few chairs in FB, The Utility car is awesome because you can pretty much build it for whatever...

Eli, if we do moosehead next year, I'll be taking this there and back.

Yup my daily route to work and the new halfmoon seals decided its tine to pull into head and mark me as the territory of the Ghost20211117_080704.jpg

say, did I miss something? Is that a battery in front of the side rig??

I could joke and ask if that is to power all your heated gear so can ride unfaired bike in low 20s……

>> later note.
now I see comment about tractor battery for cranking and for weight.

Replaced the front fender on the GS1000 today and since it was warm(er) and sunny, I felt compelled to go for a short 15 mile ride.

Had to make sure the new fender made it faster! (It seems to work!)

That thing needs a windjammer. Then you could ride it more often😁.

I did a short, 30 mile ride out to lunch and back. Nothing to photograph, since it was mostly highway, but aside from wind, the weather was about perfect (just under 80 degrees, with a few clouds but mostly clear). Had a black and blue wrap and a couple of tacos.

I need to retire, then I could spend more time on it! Like some people that show up to rally's a couple of days early, and stay a couple days after! Scheesh, retired people!:p

Got the DR650 out today...very nice day here...the dr now has 650kms on it and inching closer to it's first break-in service. And then I'll put the Yoshi exhaust in jet kit in...but first I had to siphon gas out of my 83 750 lol...lots of gas stations closed still with no gas.

A cool bike park just opened out in Langford...it goes way in behind with lots of dirt tracks too...great to see little kids on it with their push bikes. :)
