A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I bought an agm battery last summer for my gsxr it sat all winter in the bike no tender no charger for probably 5 months and when i started it this spring it cranked it just fine even through that eternity it takes to prime the fuel system will be buying one for the gs7/11+ as well.

So be it!
But before doing so I will pull the battery to verify what I got, and check the chargers manual that states it's limitations, no tender though.
Thanks
When you are in the market for a new charger/maintainer (tender), consider one of THESE from Wal-Mart. Cost is just under $20.

If you have an aversion to Wal-Mart, you can get one with a Die-Hard label from Sears or K-Mart.

Thanks to all for the posts here. I went to the local autozone and bought an AGM battery for about $75. For Sedelen, these are lead acid not Lithum or gel but they are sealed. The box says that it's supposed to maintain the majority of its voltage even over long storage. Because its technically a normal battery you can still use the tender if you like.

I wasn't quite sure if my tender was giving me issues or not so for now I have left it off (the model I have is strapped into the bike itself with a short a/c cord that sits just being the side panel).

Since the box also said it didn't need to be ore-charged I just checked the voltage with my meter (12.8) and popped it into the bike. She started up real nicely. In fact, I'm pretty sure that when Gs5150 and I were working on the bike the battery was already 1/2 dead. Since the carb sync I've never heard her start so easy and idle strong, so I'm happy for now.

I will check voltage again in the morning to see if I have a short or any wiring issues or if my last battery just gave up the ghost early on me.

Thanks.
