A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How much will you be asking for them?
They should fit into the smallest Express Mail Prepaid boxes from the PO. ;)

Good question.. How do you guys feel about $20 shipped?

I'll open a thread in the parts forum when I have a few ready to sell.

As they are currently unobtainium and several on this forum love 100% stock airboxes to go with their 100% stock bikes.
(Or just can't tune their carbs without everything sealed as stock)
$20.00 shipped sounds like a steal! ;)

Serious overkill, yet subtle. I love it.

You should be able to sell several easily.

Thanks guys. It's a fun little project.. Glad ya like it..

I went back to the 19oz 12k twill again.. I like the look more and I have lots more of it..

This layup is 2 layers 3/4 oz glass.. 1 layer 19oz twill, spread 12k carbon tow in the tabs and 1 layer of 2oz glass..

I got around the problem of it lifting in the corners by filling in with 12k tow before putting the twill down so it didn't have to bend into those tight spots..

I've been thinking about the next project.. What about GS1000 side covers?
The molds would be much bigger plus I'd need a left, right and a separate tab mold..
More of an investment but I think they would look really cool.

I thought about the engine side cover logos because they are small and simple but I wonder if they could take the heat without having to by a high temp resin.

Still working on this little project..
I made a few alterations to the mold to add strength to the tabs..
I shaved off the hard corners where the tabs meet the body of the lid to make a stronger rounded corner..

Cold weather is slowing things down.. I haven't come to a happy arrangement with my wife on an indoor location to run a vacuum pump for 8-9 hours so I may have to make a warming box out in the shed..

The revised mold ready for another layup.. 6 coats of wax and 2 coats PVA.

Man the stuff some people can do. Great work. I'll keep tabs on this thread for when you're ready to sell some.

May just retract my comment in post 2.These are that seriously cool.

Super cool project here! Great job!

Is the tongue reinforced?
