DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Auto-cancel

Everything on my bike works, except for one thing. I have to manually cancel the turn signals. What should I do to trouble shoot this issue? Manually cancelling isn't a big issue to me, but I really want everything to work. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks.

There's a reed switch on the speedo that needs to be working. I've seen some that had the glass tube broken. Also make sure that the relay wasn't changed out with the two prong automotive type. Using those will work allow the lights to flash but will disable the auto-cancel feature.

Inside?

I'll check that relay. As for the reed switch, is it inside the speedo housing?

Most likely you need a new TSCU. They fail sometimes. You can find them for cheap on ebay or maybe post in the WTB forum. They are a common part servicing several models so you can find them easily enough.

Aftermarket turn signals or bulbs can cause this problem using different watt bulbs. They have to be correct or they won't pulse so folks put in an automotive relay. Make sure this is not the issue first.
If it is not the issue I have good TSCU boxes.

Thanks everyone. I'll check all this stuff tomorrow first, and if it is the TSCU, I'll send you a pm chef.

What a dummy - me

Well, can't blame everything on the PO. Over the winter, I replaced a bunch of wiring connectors. Turns out, I mixed up the wires on the harness side of the TSCU. Swapped them back around to the correct slots and BINGO! Everything works as it should. Now I have an extra TSCU if anyone needs one.

I think that's the problem, almost for sure. I've changed mine twice and always keep a spare for when it happens again.

Just as a matter of interest, I've noticed that they don't quit working all at once. They seem to work sporadically before 'giving out' completely.:|

I hate that feature. Before I bypassed mine on my 850, I had them cancel more than once while I was waiting to make a left hand turn. NOT kosher...

I've never had that happen with the 2nd generation TSCU. Failure with those is they don't cancel, not cancel too early.

Maybe I signaled too quick... or there was tons of traffic :D

Only one I've ever had was on my '83 model.
