DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Decals & seat

Recieved the decals from Reproduction Decals today along with some seat swatches from Sargents. Decided to have the stock seat recovered. Going with the carbon fiber pattern in the saddle area trimmed with the black leather panels and the matching champagn bead trim.

jwhelan65,

Very tasteful and visually appealing/performance mods you're making to your GS, I really like it!

Have you considered going with the seat all black? Just my outsider observers opinion.

This SteveA Katana seat done in two materials and all black looks dynamite. (Sorry to booger the thread with the big pic.)

Um, no thread could ever be buggered up by a pic of an old Kat that pretty :D

Thanks for the compliments Nor Cal...Yeah I have viewed that Kat a 100 times!! kinda on the fence with the seat, black does look good with the two textures..

It sounds like your Sargent seat cover is along the lines of mine. Mine is the Griptex vinyl which I believe is no longer available. The colored piping makes a big difference vs. an all black seat, in my opinion:

You mention you're going to have the seat covered. It's pretty easy to install the cover yourself. Jethro and I both did our own. Jethro wrote up a pictorial procedure. I searched for it but couldn't find it. You might PM him to see if ha has a link.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks for the info, I actually sent two seats to Sargents. They did not have a cover for the 85 700es so I had to send it so they could pattern it. I through the 1100 in with it and had them do both. Cant decide on the piping??

Nice TL btw...

Finally got the front wheel back from the powder coater, cleaned up the rotors and had a new Pirelli mounted.

Hey J,
which model Diablos are you running? The 180 rear is the narrowest 180, right? I need to purchase a set and discovered that there are about 10 variations of the Diablo tire. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to seeing how your bike turns out. Very, very clean work you do; good stuff, please keep posting.

Looks great! What else is left on the to-do list?

Ok here we go

-remove engine for paint
-powder coat frame
-gauge bracket completed ( scapped my last one )
-mount ignition switch
-rear set plates complete
-replace brake lines
-install carbs and pods
-new grips
-mirrors
-front master
-front brake set up
-new front brake pads
-oil cooler (maybe)
The list goes on and on....just need the time!!

BTW, can you take a pic of the steering stops you put in place? I have the same front end setup. Thanks.

Patrick,

The steering stops are on the stock 93 GSXR lower triple. They work but they only allow a minimum amount of clearance. I am considering welding new ones that are longer.
