A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, since you're asking...:)
I had it sitting in the shed for a couple of years before I even started the engine to see what I had. This is after I had started tinkering seized brakes, forks, pipes, ect which turned out to be a full blown stripdown.

This was taken today, the jury is still out on the white seat, but I still have the spanking stock seat.

And just for interest with the stock seat. Which is the most comfortable bike seat in the known universe, and as combat 850 says the giuliari is like sitting on a brick.

^^^^^^
That is a STUNNING bike. Love the chrome frame. Def prefer the stock seat.

My Lord Chris, that thing is pure sex on wheels and makes me feel funny in my pants every time I look at it, absolutely stunning, if it were a girl and it were my sister, I would be the worlds biggest redneck.
Green with envy. :D:D
And yes, loose the white seat, I don't know why anyone would want any other seat than a genuine GS seat.
You need to take a ride down and visit my life long buddy and bossom friend in St. Johns, Worcester, he will go ape sh1t if he sees that bike, we rode our GS' together for eternity, until he moved over, then he sold out and now rides a BMW GS1150 Dual sport.

Definitely agree about the thumbs up on the black seat. Much better look, and if it's that comfortable I'd definitely go with it!

Thanks for the kind comments, I personally, by far prefer the stock seat which is original, but in an effort to help it last as long as possible I put a black giuliari for bombing around locally, then this white one came up and I thought I'd try it. But as I wasn't sure about it anyway it now has definatly got the thumbs down. Londonboards said the much same thing when he saw it. Shame really because its the original thing unused from the day. I'll use it on another project I'm collecting bits for.

The black one.

Yes tatu, one of the best looking bikes around. Agemax has another GS1000S stunner and in white too. I tried to persuade him that the white seat would look great on this:

but he was having none of it and he gets to keep his indoors. How can you get away with that?

Greetings

I must say the stock GS1000 seat is a very comfortable one. It proved it's worth to me on my cross country trip. I'm not familiar with other seats except the GS1100, which isn't quite as comfortable, but I hear the 850G and 1000G have a really comfy seat on them.

Guess I should post some "further development" shots of this one. It hasn't stayed that way...

Including a stint as "bajazuki"
