A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello, I've got a 1983 GS1100E. I'm just getting her on the road now after she's been hibernating over the winter. I put Stabil in the tank prior to storage and she fires up and runs okay. Can anyone advise if it's wise to add an additive to the gas to clean out any jets, deposits etc? I've heard some comments about Seafoam and a friend of mine swears by Redline Si-1 fuel injector cleaner-even for his carbureted bikes.Any advice on product, amounts to use and frequency?
Thankyou in advance.

Good oil such as Rotella T and regular maintenance per the factory service manual....I use seafoam after setting winter and it freshens up the carbs ine..I do about 1/3 of a can and run 3 tanks to just be sure its done as good as its gonna do.

Seafoam is the liquid version of Chuck Norris! I swear by it!!!!
Will stabilize fuel for 2 years!

If you can't find it, look next to the Oil Purifying machine section of the store. You might as well grab one of those too.

If you stored it with Sta-Bil and it fired up and runs, let's just say the Sta-Bil did its job.

The best thing to add to the tank now is a fresh load of 87 octane at least once a day for at least a week.

Nothing else is necessary, but Seafoam won't hurt anything except your wallet. :|

.

I just throw an entire 15 ounce can of Berryman's B-12 fuel cleaner into a tank every once in a while or half a can every other full tank.
($3.30 at Mao-Mart)
It keeps the carbs nice and happy. ;)
