If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello

I did obseved that my -82 GSX 1100E made a large blue cloud when the RPM turned over 8K yesterday. ( warm engine )
Seems like it happens each time I do this.
Someone that has the same experience ? There are NO smoke at lower RPM at any time ( warm and cold engine )

What can this trouble come from ... ?

Blue smoke in exhaust is generally caused by oil. So, you may want to run a compression check. That will tell you if it is caused by leaky rings or valves/stem seals.

To add to what was said, it could be stuck oil control ring(s), oil over filled, plugged breather...
any history that you can share with us like maintenance, its use, when it first started, how long have you had it, mileage, does it occur on acceleration, at a steady throttle or deceleration.

This engine was totaly restored 2 years ago, with new oil rings and piston rings, and has run approx. 10K kilometers since then.
Compression is 9,8 : 1 on all 4 cylinders ( measured this winter ).

Spec. on engine:
Compression 9,8 : 1
Ported top / polished
Fuel injected
New Camshafts, WGS348 Web Cam
New valve springs , Stiffer type
Heavy duty camchain
Adjustable cam sprockets
4-1 pipes
Special modified ignition system ( high voltage )

Sorry, fotgot to explain something:

The blue smoke comes with WOT and RPM passing the 8K I told you before. There are no other signs of smoke in any other situations.
Oil level are at maximum in the "oil-window" but not above.

Hmmm..., strange problem, but can it be dangerous ... ?

Maybe a build up of crankcase pressure?

Did you clean out the vent on the top of the valve cover when you rebuilt?

Is it using oil?

Maybe lower your oil level?

I can't see where it could be harmful unless it blows enough oil to coat your rear tire, or you run out of oil.

BTW, in the USA we talk about measuring compression by using a pressure gauge. PSI per cylinder should be 120PSI+, 150-160PSI is good.

oil control rings not seated to the bore.
oil rings overheated, lost or insufficient tension or worn out.
plugged/not properly connected crankcase vent system.

Does it smoke at startup with choke or just at WOT. I had this problem and had to replace the rings. The ring gap was too large.
