DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

Has anyone tried to fit a BMW k75 (Or bigger) on a gs 400 model? Is it a easy fit or ?

Don't know anything at all about a BMW tank, but I would be VERY surprised if it slipped right into place.

Like just about any other change (especially in the fuel tank area), there is going to be quite a bit of effort involved.

.

Ypu should refr this question to a bmw K bike forum and ask some kind member to measure a K tank out for you.

ANd ask someone here to do the same for the 450

Youd at least have some idea then.

Unless you have the tank and the bike together, the details will defy description ...

BUT...you could make patterns of your 450's frame from card board ....it could even be 3 dimensional by using slots to join them together.... and could be mailed in a flat envelope to the seller of the BMW tank.

Measurements alone would be difficult -it'd look like a table of offsets and you'd need an engineer at the other end to work through them, but photographs with these noted would help, or a CAD drawing!

I think it would also be helpful to know the YEAR of the "GS400" in question. :-k

Here in the USA, we had the GS400 through the '78 model year, but in other parts of the world, they continued with a GSX400 for a few more years.
I have never seen one of the GSX models, but I would guess that they probably have a different frame than the eariler GS models.
