A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was riding with a friend the other night and he noticed that my brake light was always on. I got off the bike to test it out and he was right. I also noticed that when i pulled hard on the rear or front brake the light would sometimes flicker; as in sporadic off and on.

Also, maybe unrelated...My left signal works perfectly, but my right signal flashes at a faster tempo AND triggers the left signal to faintly flash in unison.

Any thoughts?

my thought would be to fix it...

Check your front brake switch - it's located under the MC hsg on the handle bars. Loosen the 2 screws & slide it a bit until the brake light goes out. Make sure it goes on when the lever is applied only.

Good idea to completely remove it & clean it up but be carefull, there's a very small spring & copper contact in there that are easily lost...

Clean your turn signal bulbs & sockets & see if it works then...

faulty brake light switch or mal adjusted, disconnect one at a time and see when the light goes off. replace or adjust as required.
turn signals sounds like an earthing problem, check all the wires and connections are good

Hi,

Yes, my first suspect would be the front brake switch. I had exactly the same symptoms on my bike and found the contact in the switch had slid out of place. There's a clean-up guide on my website. Take it apart, clean it up, reassemble properly and you should be OK. Note: turn it upside down before you take it apart. Small parts will fall out and get lost if you're not careful.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I'm really thankful for that guide Mr. Cliff. Probably couldn't have done it without it! Now all i need is some free time...gonna have to wait till next week

If it's a Canadian model, the running light is on at all times along with the headlight.
