Hi all,
I was rebuilding my master cylinder and when trying to remove the reservoir I put my thumb through the side. Yes, there was a thumb shaped piece broken out of the reservoir
I cleaned the parts with simple green, hot water, and tooth brush. After drying I fitted the pieces into place and used thin CA (Cyanoacrylate) glue. The glue wicked into the aged plastic making the reservoir much stronger. I would recommend trying the glue if your reservoir is chalky and brittle.
Be sure to get good CA and the thin type (like water) from a hobby shop.
