Which kind of brake pads are best? I was looking on dennis kirk-theres ceramic, kevlar etc...

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
Those newer formulation "ceramic" and/or "kevlar" pads are a crap shoot in my mind since there isn't much history on their use with our old style braking system and semi-soft stainless rotors. It's safer to stay with the known good organic pads like EBC or stock Suzuki in my opinion. What ever you do just stay away from "semi metallic" or "sintered" pads since they are overly abrasive for our old style rotors and will cause excessive wear.
BTW, you need EBC FA51 style pads, not the FA65's, which are often mixed up. I've seen auctions on ebay where the sellers are all jacked up on this detail so pay attention.

I used EBC's organics on the front of my bike, and Ferodo's on the back. The Ferodo's are a little more aggressive, somewhere between a stock and a racing pad. I do have a lot more control with the back brake than I had before, and it seems that I can meter it up to a lock up, where the organic pads locked up fairly unpredictably under heavy braking.

I'm with Mr. Nessism. I use EBC organics for every day, normal, commuting, have some fun in the twisties, etc, kind of riding. They're fine for the type of riding I do.

Ceramics are a "harder" compound and you will get almost no brake dust, but they need to be "warmed up" to stop the best. So if you are cruising on highway for extended amounts of time and hit the brakes at the off ramp you will be in for a lil surprise. They will work just not that great
