A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

BUB exhausts

I know that some of the members (including myself) on here picked up some BUB 4:1 exhausts from another member.

I was in the garage last night, and noticed that I have an exhaust leak at the joint between header and muffler. Has anyone else noticed this, and should I be doing something like adding a gasket at that joint?

Think it's normal for headers to leak a little there. I wouldn't do anything unless it's leaking really bad.

Thanks Ed.

In my opinion it is very bad. There is a large plume of exhaust escaping and making it's way up to produce a cloud in front of the headlight. It comes up and around me at stops, making me smell like I've been trying to fumigate the lower mainland. I'm thinking that can't be very healthy.

Maybe some header wrap around the joint held in place by band clamps?

Good suggestion...

I know some other systems use a spring to pull the two parts together, and it looks like there should be one on this as well, but none was provided. I keep meaning to contact BUB at their request, but never seem to find the time.

Do you have a clamp on the pipe to muffler connection? I am the one who sold those exhausts and there should be a clamp that holds the collector onto the header. Make sense?

That's right! I probably should have fired off an email to you. Thanks for the reply.

No, there was no clamp in the set I received from you.

The pipe is brilliant by the way. It's starting to show a little rust, but only on the surface, and it is not unsightly.

Getting back to this, Jim.

I still haven't put a clamp at the connection, but I am getting a large amount of exhaust coming out there, so I wat to address it this spring.

Can you shoot me a pic of a clamp installed on the pipe? I can come up with any number of solutions, but I'm looking to keep it as authentic to the brand as possible.

Thanks
