DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I know some of you here have built new brake lines with components ordered from the Internet. But what about building new top end oil lines, those two on the back of the 750 GSED head? Can I get those fittings from the internet? Does anyone with more knowledge than me know the sizes?
Thanks:-\\\

Bump;)
Nobody who has built lines has any info for me?
:(
So depressing

On my 750E, I took the oil lines to a local company that specialized in Hydraulic hoses and fittings. They built me new lines using the existing fittings. I had hoped they would put new fittings on, but they didn't have them. Cost me $20 for the 2 lines.
However, they worked perfectly and goodbye oil leak on the GS.

^ditto. Use the stock line fittings and affix new lines. Any hydraulic joint can fix you up...but you can ghetto it yourself using high pressure neoprene hose and clamps like a man.

I will do this, but living in Ontario now:( I have to find myself a hydraulic shop, knew where they were in Saskatoon and Calgary, now I am lost. Maybe I could just buy red brake lines and make new hoses myself:-k

Go to a local auto parts store, one with a machine shop. If they don't make them, they probably know someone who can.

Clone,
Princess Auto has great hydraulic build/rebuild capabilities. I think there is one in Kingston, and as far as I know they will do work 'by mail'.

There is a Princess Auto in Whitby, but I don't recall seeing any really small line there.

There was a link posted on the GSR a couple years or so ago about a company you could mail your oil lines to and they'd make you stainless ones. I can't find it now, perhaps another member remembers?
It ended up cheaper for me to have it done locally. I was lucky though, the place was only a few minutes from where I worked.

If you like, let me know the size you need and I will check here...we apparently have the 'largest in Canada' now.
