Cam chain stretch

I'm confused.
I want to measure my cam chain stretch. The manual says 157.80 mm for 20 links. So, 78.9 mm for 10 links?
First, my calipers dont extend that far, so I thought to measure 10 links and cut the measurement in half, doesnt seem to work
I get 65.85 mm measuring to the tenth link, inside of the rollers. And 71 mm to the middle of the pins.
Do you measure to the inside of the link rollers or to the middle of the pins?

I measured to the 20th pin with a tape measure and got ~150.00 mm of a limit of 157.80 mm so I think I am good unless I am supposed to measure to the rollers. anybody?

Oh, and at least get yourself a good steel rule, tape measure is not good enough.

The picture in my manual shows center-to-center, but it also shows no numbers on the scale.

I have a steel rule, but it only goes to 6"
Anyway at least I know my chain is ok, its just the rear guide needs changing, so I dont have to split the cases again Gets tiresome after the third time

Its already in, man, cases are back together, just waiting for parts to arrive
The PO put sealer on the bearings Crank bearings and tranny bearings!
So, When the cases were torqued down the bearings were crushed and there was major binding in the trans, which messed up the bearings

I put a thin layer of sealer on the outer bearing surface.
Very thin
He must of gunked that sh!t on to crush a bearing or he didn't have that tiny dowel (pin) in the correct spot.

Ya, it was gunked on, whatever it was he used, some red stuff, must've let it dry a bit too. I had to pry the one trans shaft out it was that stuck
