    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cam Chains

As some of you know, Tsubaki now no longer manufacturers cam chains. As a major supplier of parts for these engines, including the GS motors, we had to scramble to secure new sources. We had to make a substantual investment, but we have assured that high performance cam chains for these bikes will continue to be available.

Just received a large shipment of the 120 link that are the GS chain.

DID Japan. Ray, you asked on FB about the strength of the DID and you found that both Spiderman McBride, and Ian King run DID in their top fuel motors.
 
Tsubaki camchain has never been available here in NZ but DID has...I've been using it for years in roadrace and speedway motors - even the occasional drag motor.
NEVER broken one.
 
I received a new cam chain today, says it's made in Japan, but that might be the plastic bag it came in.
Wonder how many dealers, if any, still have a few Tsubaki's on the shelves.

The part number was 12760-45040 old was 12760-49011
 
I do not believe there are any 120 link Tsubakis available. We had the last. Tsubaki was always popular because they were cheaper than DID and RK (RK quit cam chains too ). DID was always a great chain, but pricey. Now it is the new standard.
 
Turns out this 1150 motor had a DID cam chain, now I'm questioning the replacement. I purchased this chain after Jay started thread, but before I saw an answer to the brand. This cam chain says nothing on the plates, but the paper inside the plastic bag says KSVC1 or KSVG1 made in Japan. Got me worried I'm putting something sub-standard, eventhough it's claimed to be OEM.
 
We had some sample 120 link chains sent to us to evaluate and it turned out they had peanut style side plates. That id the KZ Kawasaki style, but I don't know of any Kawasakis that take a 120 link chain.

They were sold as being for GS suzuki, but I thing that style chain would tear up the guides.
 
I just talked to a guy at Suzuki Motor of America, who couldn't tell me who the vendor on cam chains is, but apparently the part number associated with the cam chain I have is correct. He said it changed to this part number in 1995.
