Cam end plugs?

Any idea if these Kawasaki ones would work on my GS1100EZ?

Just wondering... If not, I'll just go with the rubber ones.

Well, they're cheap enough. I just my buy a set to experiment with the next time I adjust my valves. If so, I'll let you know.

I have some of those, they don't have a grove for an O ring.. I also haven't tried them yet..

I have heard that the Kawasaki engines are very similar to our Suzuki engines. Maybe they will fit, maybe not.

I just thought that it would be nice to never have to replace the cam end plugs ever again. Only would have to replace the little rubber strip which is $3.

Every 4,000 miles calls for a valve adjustment, right? I think this will save a little extra cash on the long run. Yes, I'm cheap.

Do the Z1 end plugs have a metal core like the OE pieces?

I'm pretty cheap too, although I prefer to be called "value oriented"...

With that said, there's no reason you need to replace the rubber cam plugs each time you do a valve adjust - they should stay put right there in the 1/2 moon cut-out when the valve cover is removed.

I use a light layer of grease on my OEM VC gasket & I've had the cover on & off maybe 4 times now with no leaks. The rubber plugs haven't moved either.

I do use a very light coat of Permatex gasket sealer on the rubber plugs though, to insure they seal well - probably helps to keep them in place when the cover is off too.

You can't see them anyways so what's the point.
I've never seen the half moons go bad since they are coated metal.

The OEM plugs coated metal??? WTF? Mine is solid rubber. I can twist and bend them. Hell, I bet I could cut them in half with scissors easily.

Jeep, I am admiring the dark cloud over my head again. Mine is completely rubber! No big deal. That might explain the leaks? Whatever. Needed new ones anyways.

If they are aftermarket they may be an inferior rubber as well as an inferior design. The metal would stop distortion.

Yes. And they don't leak either.

Yup.. metal.. It was easy to get the OE ones through my local bike shop..
