A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

picked these up on craigslist. They are not quite a match for my gs750 as they have a slightly different flange design. It will be easy enough to weld a new flange... I think they are for a Z900 maybe. They were sand blasted at one point and now they have a pretty rough finish. I was hoping they might be stainless but they have a bit of rust in spots. I will have to ask my welder/fab guys next store cause I don't know how to identify stainless. I know there is different grades and some do rust easier... If they turn out to be stainless I will try to polish them up but if not (likely) I guess it will be black paint and pipe wrap.

I have to figure out some more pipe to weld onto them and a muffler. The outlet is roughly 3 inches, not quite sure how to approach this yet. The header comes almost right up tpo my center stand (which will have to go) and is fairly centred under the bike. If anybody has any ideas on how to go from here out the side with a normal pipe size please share. I am thinking supertrapp maybe. What are people liking for a nice, tough but not too obnoxious tone?

stainless is not magnetic, 304 and 316 are the grades with 316 being most expensive. If they are rusting may be stainless but are called magnetic stainless. If you have a pocket knife and it says stainless on the blade and a magnet sticks to it magnetic stainless. This is very low grade not much good because it will rust. Non-ferrous metals are not magnetic, brass, copper ect ect. Ferrous metals would be magnetic. All you need would be a magnet to tell. Hope that helps a little.
