    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello good people of the GS Resources!

I'm fairly new to the site and have learned so much
valuable information since I've joined.
Very thankful for that and so glad I bought my Suzuki!

I've been wondering what type of pipe I have since the day I
bought it. The previous owner has coated it in a glossy black high heat
type finish. There are no distinguishing marks or labels and it is
clearly not stock.

Does anyone recognize the manufacturer? Any info would be greatly appreciated. There is a picture of it in my only album here on the resources.

Going by your profile pic, the constant-diameter pipe between the collector and the muffler makes me think it's a Mac. Also have a look at the flange that mounts the horn to the frame--Macs have a symmetric trapezoidal flange, while (most) V&H are sort of shark-fin shaped. Post a better pic?

Like Tin said, i am guessing Mac.
Although most Mac systems have an upswept muffler, yours flattens out in the back half. I am wondering if it is properly mounted...maybe just rotated around 180 degrees.
Another pic showing the baffle in the muffler will help with the i.d.

That looks a lot like the pipe I had on my 550 (and I agree that your megaphone looks upside down). I didn't know what it was, either, but I sold it on eBay for about $150.

Here's a shot of the hanger bracket.

Is it just a matter of loosening the clamp where the four pipes come
together and rotating the header 90 degrees?
I'll attempt to flip it as soon as I can.

Will the proper positioning give the bike any better performance or
is it just proper esthetics?

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like it should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
On the Mac i had the slotted bracket attached to the muffler was facing the wheel not the ground.
No performance gain at all, i just think it looks better.
You may want to leave yours alone if you ever want to put bags on your bike. Their can be clearance issues.

Thanks again Steve, I think I'll straighten it out
just so it's correctly adjusted.

The previous owner sold me the bike with fiberglass
paniers on it. That could explain the twisted mount
job.
