A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

FYI...Anyone in need of top notch carb rebuilding check out wgcarbs.com He did my VM 26s for my 77 gs750. total cost was $338.00 US funds. Email him for turn around times as he does them in the order he recieves them..Does a great job.

probably so ifi was a carb savy type.. besides he runs them in an engine and tunes them before he sends them back..all that and no aggrivation from my end was worth it to me.. was jsut throwing it out there. Always nice to have resources and options. Just trying to be of some use in this world LOL. I was just creating an album.. This has been covered many times. He CANNOT tune your carbs on another engine. It may be close but you need to Synchronize the carbs to YOUR engine.
All engines have different vacuum pull on different cylinders.
I'm sure he did great work I just thought you should know this.

This was intended as a resource for those not as ADVANCED in such areas as obviously you are.. And yes i did know that each bike has to be synced as it is unique. I was simply putting it out there for anyone wishing to have it done professionally like i did. Now that being said, to find the parts, clean the carb bodies inside and out, reset to factory settings, run them on an actual engine instead of "GUESSING" as to where to start from and at least get them really close so all you need to do is fine tune it a bit isnt such a bad deal.

Thanks for the kudos on the bike so far.. i need to get some more polishing done but it has come a long way. Wish had taken some before pics so you could see just how awefull it really was when i got it..hope it gives others some joy too.. As i said i am a newbie to bike projects. This is my first one ever..

Carb Rebuilding

Carb Rebuilding

Anyone in the Chicago area that would not mind helping me with my carb rebuild? I don`t have a garage or shop. I could bring the carbs to you and we could work on them together. I looked at the carb rebuild tips on this website but, it seems a bit too involved to tackle alone. I think I have the Mikuni 29mm smoothbores because my adjuster knob is on top of the carb bank instead of underneath.
