    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was wondering where I can get the barbs for syncing the carb. Does anyone know what is the best type tubing for a homemade vaccum setup. I was looking a walmart at fish tank tube, looks like it would be sucked shut. I ask around someone told me there is heavier fish tank tubing at specality pet stores? i was going to look at auto parts store for barbs. Any body got anything?:confused: I was also wondering if anyone knows which way the manifolds go back on? I wasn't paying attension when I took them off.:o. 82 gs 650L Thanks
 
Irrigation tubing is the right size and the threaded fittings are the right size.
glue them into a 2 inch length of the irrigation tubing to make the manifold extensionsand put a small o ring over the thread that will go into the manifold. works a treat.
 
I threaded an aluminum tube cut into four shorter tubes, very easy, it still works fine although you have to be careful not to break the threaded part off, the aluminum is weak.

I broke one of my brass sync tubes. Please post a pic of your creation and where you got the tubing.

For a while I had the synch tool but the tubes were in my other toolbox in Phoenix, had to make a set:

These are aluminum, but brass tubes or mild steel would be better, Ace or any hobby shop sells the tubes. Couple bucks each for a piece a foot or two long.
Can't remember the thread pitch, just match one of yours. 4mm I think?
The tubes come in inch sizes, but the diameter doesn't really matter as long as it works in the tap.

Just use a standard nut and o ring to seal it up.

A typical auto parts store will carry the 3/16" barbs, usually in nylon / plastic. If you want fancier, McMaster-Carr carries them in brass (or maybe copper, not sure) for about a buck-something a copy. I'm sure there are other sources.

My original MotionPro mercury stix came with what looked like aquarium tubing, and a few times I had a tubing end actually start to melt off of the adapter! Cheap stuff. Makes for a curious sync effort when one cylinder suddenly drops out of the picture.

I use vacuum line from an auto parts store (3/16" works for me) coming straight from the adapters, about 4" worth. Then I use barbs to connect the sync tool from there. After 4", of course, heat won't be a factor.
 
My home made sync uses the garden variety clear vinyl "aquarium" tubing purchased at a meijers department/grocery store.
