Hi all. I need help to solve some problems I have in my Suzuki GS 1100L, almost certainly will already have answered before, but my English is pretty bad and I have to go with happy translator, which lose much time looking for the answers I hope I apologize, I describe the problem:
I changed the original leak that had the susi another brand Serving, LLC estava very run down and I could not fix it, is a four in one, and I really like it but, as is normal carburation has changed and now the rev up the engine floods, ie does not respond well to high, or midrange, I removed the carburetors, this week I be cleaned with ultrasonic sound good then I hope ...... cambiare suppliers and all together, I have seen on ebay in USA that are reasonably priced in Europe are much more expensive, the question I have is that no set of suppliers. second leading manufactures book: I write in English:
Main jet: # 107.5
main air jet: 1.7
needle jet: 5d50
Pilot jet: # 40
starter jet # 45
If someone has changed by other suppliers with a good result would be very grateful as I indicated. I had to replace the air filter box, estava in bad shape after three years in the sun, I could not put it back totally deformed?? . I put a few individual filters on each carburetor, if I can I will put pictures of the whole process, a greeting from Catalonia. and thanks for your time.

Your bike has poor mid range and high rev response because it is running too lean (not enough fuel, too much air)

This is a common problem with 4-1 exhaust and individual filters

In the USA, our carberaters were different than other countries, so the Dynojet kit mentioned above is the best choice for us and probably for you also.

If you have looked inside you carbs, do they have notches on the needle? If so, you can get improvements by raising the needle and installing a larger main jet, about 117.5

Thank you. I will study, I think you are absolutely right. Tomorrow I cleaned the carburetors, and I start to put together the new kit etc, looketh to put first a 110 and if I see that still goes a bit dry measuring gasoline rising ire. I was hoping someone had done the same thing I had to do it myself, I would have saved a lot of time and money, it would have saved me from buying different sizes of jets, a greeting from Catalunya, and thank you very much for everything. 'll post pictures of the process in case anyone is interested. you have a website perfect, solucionadp me many questions. a hug. jzape2005

The jet kit for that bike is the same as the 1980 GS1100E; DynoJet Stage 3.

On my 1983 GS1100G, the stock jets are 120 mains, 40 pilots, 170 pilot airs. I got my jets from Chef1366 here on the forum. Be sure to inspect the o-rings behind your intake manifolds. If they are cracked or broken, replace them. I got a new set from Robert Barr here on this forum. Good luck with your restoration.

Retcol, he has the 16 valve "E" model engine, not the 8 valve engine you have. Jetting will be completely different, and will be the same as the "E" model, which requires the DynoJet Stage 3 kit when he has a pipe and pods. If you could translate that for us, you will be helping him a great deal.

My mistake koolaid kid, another senior moment. I'll translate your statement.

Buena suerte.

Thanks. I wouldn't call it a great error, merely a booboo. I posted the kit number and description in an earlier post (with links to DynoJet), if he needs that information.

Now if DynoJet would only make a Stage 3 for the 83 GS1100G, I might consider pods!

Tanks chef1336, I saw that part and was wondering if it would work on the 83 model. I didn't see why it wouldn't work. Of course, it is quite expensive at $125, so I think I'll look for a used kit. You don't happen to have one laying around, do you? I guess the adjustable needles are the most important part since the jets can be replaced.

Not only are the needles adjustable, their taper is exactly tuned for each engine. The stock GS needles are almost impossible to tune when you have pods and a pipe.
You will not be able to find a used set because some of the parts are permanently installed.
There is another brand out there attempting to steal a part of DynoJet's thunder for around $100, but I do not recall their name.
If you can't afford the $125 you should strongly consider returning to stock. You have to pay to play, unfortunately.

You talking about Six Sigma Racing?

They have several products available, but trying to get hold of them is not easy.
I am working on a set of carbs for another member and had some questions, so I called the phone number on their website.
Got a message that it was no longer in service. Sent them an e-mail. No response after a week.

.

That sounds like the one, Steve. Not good news, though. Keep us posted, as I recall more than one GSR member either purchasing their kits or showing interest in them.

The carbs I am working on are from an 850. The main jets were changed from the Six Sigma jets because of other concerns, and are not quite correct, they are the small-diameter jets, not the usual large ones.

The needles are adjustable, they have SIX grooves for the clip. However, I measured the diameter of the needle at several points and compared them to the stock Mikuni needle. They are virtually the same.
I am wondering if these needles are really just the Canandian or European needles that we did not get in the US?

I have another set of needles from a DynoJet kit (for another model) and the taper on them is a LOT different. I have not put the calipers to them, yet, but will in the very near future.

I did return her to stock koolaid, I couldn't get her to run decent with pods. Now she runs perfect, but I have 4 pods sitting on my workbench. Anybody need 4 excellent pods with clamps? $20 shipped.
