A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Battery went bad,replaced,1 week later battery went low again,Tested everything per stator papers, statore is.7 or 7 i forget, ohms on all 3 legs, running at idle 70volts ac all 3 legs.
Am i right in finding my stator is bad?heres what ima do,i have a 3k mile stator that tests good in ohms,.4 or 4 i forget, to be exact. My brother has a parts honda, gonna use that reg/rect.
That should cure it no?
I hope so,this is not so much asking for help, just reasurance. And for other to read incase they ever have this issue.;)
But according to the stator papers,my stator is toast,it is the original and has 22k on it.

do the quick test (see my link below) and report back the values for each step. Recharge your battery first.

If you got .7 ohms (that's point 7) leg to leg and very high resistance to ground from these legs, your stator is probably OK. Try the honda R/R and test the charging output at idle and at 4k rpm. If it looks good, then get stator and R/R nice and hot and RETEST it. Don't skip the tips from Basscliff's site regarding wiring.
I imagine 80% of members here have had this issue

Yes resistance is high, voltage is low,and no charge at the battery no matter the rpm.NO CHARGE.Battery brand new, full charge
according to multimeter there is no charge at the battery, stator tests bad according to the papers, and while i am at it i am putting a honda r/r in.
Tomarrow the new stator goes in and the honda r/r,i will report back with findings after the overhaul of the charging system. For now i am takin the blaster up the mountain to tear stuff up,the fair was aweime, tractor pulls were awesome, nuthin like 7k horsepower hittin u in the chest hehe.

3k mile stator from my 550L parts bike is in,honda shindegen r/r free from my brothers parts bike. All tests confirm good, placed r/r front of battery box, pods give the room and nice air flow there, tidy'd up nice,so happy, one more problem repaired for free.
Charge at the battery is Acceptable and steady.
When i tested yesterday it jumped all over the place.
