DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ah! Gotcha! I just applied my first coat of silver. Yeah, decided on silver. Not enough silver bikes out there.

That fairing looks great! Love the gold and blue!

Rattle can...

It's the stock fender, but modified. The bottom was cracked. I brazed it once and welded it twice. Kept cracking through, so I cut the end off. It works until I find a replacement. Plan to paint the rear as well.

Here's mine, just completed the addition of the fairing a couple weeks ago. All rattle can. I really should get a better shot of it somwhere, but you can see the "before" in my signature

As nice as the rear fender is, please exchange it for a nasty one, plus cash, from a member that may want a nice chrome example.

I guess that could happen. It will likely happen over the winter. I'm still trying to find a front fender, with no luck...

Here is the latest "dress" for my bike. The side panels crazed a bit, so I'll have to redo them soon. I'll try to get some daylight pics for better detail.

The S badge I ended up getting is too small. So I'll pay around with options there.

The seat is another homegrown fiberglass job.

I am digging the tail-light, which includes integrated turn signals and plate light.

A little flash reveals the new safety feature:

Painting

Hello to all, for a poof can paint job the bikes look pretty good. I have been paniting anything if it will hold still long enough for about 20 years now. The laq. paints of today are not like what they were 30 years ago. They will just not hold up to chemicals. I would say after all the hard work that you put in, spend a little bit and go to a local body shop and have them put a clear coat on it. If you can buff laq. you can buff clear. If you want to use automotive paint find a local shop that has a fleet account. They get thier paints far cheaper than your non fleet shops. I have worked in both types for many years, to just spray a clear on would not cost that much. If anyone has any questions please ask I will help all I can.

This is exactly what the 2K clear is. Two part urethane just like the automotive stuff, hey, it is the automotive stuff.

2k Upol primers are good, clear I do not like. As far as a true 2 part system in a spray can is impossible, primer or clear that is part one, part 2 is the hardner or activator. thus a chemical reaction once mixed you cant stop it, only prolong it by keeping it cold will work.

That's why the 2K stuff has an activator button on the can to mix the hardener in and the can has about 12 hours of shelf life once mixed.

;)

Haha

Haha

Learned somthing new. I have not seen that, I will have to ask my vendor about that, I do use the 2k Upol primer alot at work but I get it by the gallon.
