A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

cheapest place for head gasket

Clam,
you are too funny. That auction is funny. Yes, true; don't buy some fake aftermarket oil filter either, you can buy mine for $4. It's the real deal original.

If you're going to all the work of reworking your head, do you want to skimp on the gasket?

Bwwwaaa hawww haww!!!! A used headgasket?

If that sells, I am putting all my lightly used exhaust gaskets and crush washers up for sale. I also have a 5 gal jug of well cared for, low mileage motor oil for sale, and some real nice waterfront property in central Florida.

Dude, it's a great deal, it was only used ONCE! The gasket is in prestine condition.

BTW if anyone is interested, I still have a used set of tires for sale, 22,743 mi on them , and they are all pre-dry rotted, (no need to wait 11 years)

According to the dealer here in town, the head gasket for my two valve 750 is discontinued. Seems odd. Then again, he also sells Triumphs....

I doubt it. On the majaority of older Suzuki parts, when looking at the computer parts diagram, and parts ref listing you will automatically see "discontinued". This many times only means the PART NUMBER has been discontinued. If you click on the discontinued part reference, it forewards you to another screen, which then allows you to click again on that part #, then you get a new superseeded Suzuki p/n. Give me your bike info, and I can research it for you.

It's registered as a '78 GS750, but the motor serial number makes the motor a '79. No, it's not a screw-up, It's sort of a Heinz 57. I had like 4 motors, and that set of cases was the best. Anyway, no big deal. I bought a complete Athena gasket kit for probably less than a Suzuki head gasket would run me. I just have to get a nice day so I can roll some bikes out of the garage to give me some room to work on it!

For the best prices I use Ron Ayers. BUT you need to find the original Suzuki stock part number, becasue they won't have it. Don't even tell them what year your bike is, just give them the part number. They tend to be 10-20% cheaper than Bike Bandit (which still can get your gasket in stock BTW, http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/oem_schematic_view~schem_dept_id~1020350~section_dept_id~1~section_dept_name~OEM+%28Stock%29+Parts~dept_type_id~2~model_dept_year~1978~model_dept_mfr~Suzuki~model_dept_id~988001~model_dept_name~GS750EC.asp )
