I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need a choke cable. Easy, right?

So I looked at some that had pics on Z1 and some other sites. They didn't look right. I pulled up the schematics for my bike on bikebandit and ordered from them. I received the cable that I have seen pics of, standard plunger type.

Mine looks like a snail...with a tab of some sort that is broken off by the PO.

Anyone familiar with this or know where to source it?

I wish these bikes just had the little stubby chokes like dirt bikes. One less cable to uglify the bike.

That type of choke is found on '82 and newer Suzukis.

'80 and '81s with the CV carbs had pull-type knobs, usually mounted in the steering stem.
Earlier bikes with VM carbs had levers on the sides of the carbs.

Here is the picture that twr1776 was referring to:

choke cable?

choke cable?

I have an 83 and am also in need of a choke cable...I believe I ahve this same type..not the plunger knob style...where would I find one? I can only find the ones through 81...
thanks

Why doesn't someone make a version like they have on later Suzukis where there is a black knob on the side of the carbs and you just pull it out and all four carbs are fully choked.

That's exactly what I would like.

I ordered the cable for an '82...maybe I'll try my luck and order one for an '83.

Thanks for the microfiche pic, haven't seen that one before.

Check out part 67. But I cannot see what holds this knob in position while the choke is in the on position.

This is off the '88 600 Katana.
