A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I wasn't paying attention and after cleaning my car last year, I used armor all... I was sliding all over that damn seat for a month! Might as well have put a helping of grease on it. What about leather conditioner?? good idea, bad idea?

I know what you mean about sliding all over the place. it was kind of crazy.

mcguires has a nice interior spray out now natural finish not greasy i put it on my seat it wasnt slick the last time i rode. made it look really nice as well.

When I first got my bike it was dull-looking and had some mold or mildew or all over it. A buddy of mine said use bleach/water and a stiff bristled brush. Worked like a charm. The seat looks new now.

Original " FANTASTIC " is fine for cleaning, it won't shine it up but the last thing you want is to slide off your seat.

Or TUFF STUFF vynil cleaner, it's a foam that does a good job of cleaning vynil.

this is what i used and its not slick at all leaves a nice natural clean finish not glossy just nice

I used some stuff made by Armor All, but it's just a cleaner, not a shiney whatever. Armor-All Cleaning Wipes. It didn't make it shiny, but it did clean it great. It's also not slippery, which is a bonus.

OK my little secret

OK my little secret

I bought a "mint" Corbin Gunslinger and a Lady" seat for my 83 GS1100ED. This is the one that is black but the passenger section is red to match the bike.

Well the mint seat was so dirty it looked as if it had been handled by an army of mechanics for about 10 years and the grease would not come out.

I finally used carburetor/brake cleaner to wipe out the deeply en-grained grease. The material was not affected too bad and it did look much better after.

There it is out.

so what do i finish the seat with?
i repaired and cleaned and then vinyl paint, looks great BTW.
so what do i finish with that won't leave me at the intersection watching my bike head off into the sunset?

if you mean make it look great with out slipping off of it, Maguires Quik Interior Detailer

leaves it looking new and clean without being like armor-all greasy its all i ever used on my seat and never had a slippery feel
