DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Clutch Slipage question...

Oh i misread, thought you meant you tried half and half barnett and stock fibres. Springs! gotcha. I have to say, the stock Zook springs feel pretty damn good to me. I dont think i would want a heavier feeling clutch than it is with new ones in there. But then again, this bike is completely stock as far as performance goes. Maybe if it was pulling more HP or something i may think differently.

I did a barnett fiber kit with new stock springs a while ago, no problems. the springs were in spec but so cheap I replaced them anyway. I would not shim the springs because you change the preload condition point and that could lead to failure

Never tried them. I heard bad things about them.

Im starting to hear that alot. After talking to Rapidray, my local dealer, Barnett, and FBG (Fast by Gast http://www.fastbygast.com/) Im tossing all the Barnett stuff and geting 9 new fibers, 8 new steels and a cover gasket from Patrick at FBG for $125. My local dealer wanted over $15 per fiber and who knows what the steels would have been.

Thanks Ray for the heads up.

CK, where R those pics ? :-D

I've got 8 steels in spec.

I probably have 9 Barnett steels that are OK and most of the fibers but I dont need a mic to see a couple fibers are cooked. Any one need some gently used Barnett clutch parts there all yours......

CK, any luck on those pics ?:) I have a question about items 15,16 & 17 and the un numbered ring between them. How do they go in and what holds them in ? 16 is nowhere to be found. ????

They go in as shown in the diagram, the un-numbered ring is one of your steel plates and #16 is the retention ring that holds them in. If you don't have #16 anymore then someone has been in there before and omitted putting it back in, the factory has it in for noise reasons and perhaps wear associated with what would make the noise.

regarding the oil and clutch issue mentioned earlier, when I first got my bike I thought old motor I'll put in 20w50 oil. Well the clutch certainly didn't slip but it would not fully disengage until the bike had run for 10 minutes.

then I read the oil cap that said 10w40, changed the oil to that and the problem went away. I always did have issues reading instructions.:(
