Well, it seems that when I installed the new (used) ignition sensor on my GS700 I didn't check the clearances quite right, and must have put the plate on slightly to the side or something (there isn't much adjustment that you can do, but I suppose there must be a tiny bit).
At this point, it looks like this:
I started it up, idled for a couple minutes, revved it a few times - all seemed well. It was only later when I took a couple pictures that I noticed the cracks. In other words, it currently runs fine.
So, is it going to come apart or is it going to be fine for a while? I'd obviously prefer not buying another one, and that's the same pickup as was 100% destroyed on the other sensor I have.
