Crank!!!!!

Good day everyone im new to the forums and new to the GS family. Anyway's on to my question.

I have an 81 GS1100E and from what i have been told the cranks are a pressed together, Im currently piecing together everything for a full rebuild for a turbo install during the winter of 2015/16. Does anybody know of a place that knows what they are doing when it comes to welding these cranks and installing aftermarket rods? Where can i get aftermarket rods? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the fast responses every one! I am in the US, I reside in Des Moines, Iowa. I will be fully prepared to drop the cash needed for this build to take form the way i want it. Its already visually where i want it to be now its time for some go fast goodies.

It will be a blow through carb setup in the beginning.
id say somewhere between 160-180 would be what im looking for to start.
Itll be a street bike that will see the track.
engine is an 1100.

a good stock crank checked and welded.
an HD backing plate kit installed onto your clutch basket.
lower APE HD studs.
upper APE HD cyl. studs.
back cut trans.
1166-1198 turbo pistons would be nice but flat tops will work.
to use an 1198 you need an 1150 cyl.
a lock up clutch would be nice.
valve job with HD springs set to 40-42 psi seat pressure.
stock cams set around 105/107.
hi-vol oil pump gears.
if this is a pro street style bike maybe a rear facing pick up/modded pan.
i always ran copper gaskets with the liner o-ringed and always had a little oil weep...not major.
there are better ways to seal combustion as far as being oil tight.

with less than what i mentioned above we ran 8.80's with no bars with a mr. turbo draw threw set up back in 1990.
sound like your not being greedy...
the money won't be bad if you buy some used parts like i always tried to.

John Pearson at Pearson Racing, 937-839-9723, for the crank work. You don't need aftermarket rods. The stock 382 or 492 rods will handle that power level EASILY. If you want to build a REALLY good crank, use the 493 Katana rods. They are still available from Suzuki & the Kawi funny bike guys still use them in their motors. The stock, 1150 cams are still in use by Suzuki funny bike guys today, they are that good! Set the exhaust cam at 114 & 111 on the intake if you want a STUPID amount of power. Google John or Josh Davis. John KNOWS how to get power out of a Suzuki with a hair dryer! I am not a fan of blow thru on carbs. Injectors, yes but carbs no. A draw thru on the street is MUCH easier to work on & keep running without issue. Make SURE you install all the parts & all the mods Terry listed above. It will be bullet proof with that kind of build. I have clutch hub kits in stock if you need one built. Looking forward to seeing this one run!
