A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just bought a new speedometer for my GS750E. A Daytona ASURA computer. Looks good, and works fine... BUT! When reading the manual, it says DO NOT leave ASURA computer under the sunlight... WTF? It is meant to be mounted permanetly. I can take it off, but it will take 3-4 houres.

I know my english is bad, but to me this means it cant take direct sunlight

Sounds like a "safety" warning to me... You might not be able to read it in the sunlight so maybe you'll be distracted or something.

It says leave under the sunlight.

Well I hope it can take some sun he he

Hi,

Yes, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. I would send an email to their tech support and ask for clarification. In the meantime, just cover it with a cloth or something. :-k

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Well winter is comming here now, so I have 4-5 months before the sun comes back and my bike is out he he

Is this what you have?

My best guess is that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will cause the screen to "blackout". I have experienced this with other LCD gadgets left in the car before.

That "blackout" is temperature-related. Cool the device just a bit and the display will return to 'normal'.

.

Yes it is the same. Just hope I dont have to cover it up each time I park it in a place were it is sun

Yup. Over time I've noticed it will not always return to normal though. The screen on my Sirius receiver didn't! Maybe it has something to do with the quality of the LCD? :-k I dunno.

So this is actually a pos device... Had I known this I would never orderd it :-(

No one said it was a POS, it may be a great unit, the manufacturer probably put that warning on there to cover their ass in the off chance something does happen. I usually look for a shady spot to park my bikes if possible anyway lol
