A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Did anyone ever make their own headlight bracket ?

Hello,

I recently purchased Tarozzi high rise clip ons from 'Fast from the past' for my
beloved GS1100GL (37 mm fork width).

These fit perfectly and do turn the machine into the desired new 'cooler' look.
There is one problem...the thickness of the clip on ring that goes over the forks, prohibits the original headlight brackets to be used.

I cut off the top connector ring (with rubber inside) from the existing 'standard' headlight, but my test turned out terribly.

Did anyone ever make their own headlight bracket ? pictures available ?
or a design so that I can ask a welder to make one ?

thanks in advance,

G

Have not heard of anyone making them, but there are some "universal" units that clamp on.

They are shorter, top-to-bottom, which should leave enough room for your clip-ons.

.

Hi Steve,

thanks for the 'early' answer (how late is it now 'over there' ?).

Do you have any idea what name/brand/company I'm looking for ?

Hi Steve,

thanks for the 'early' answer (how late is it now 'over there' ?).
It was just after 7am, about ready to head out the door for work. :D

Just after 4pm now, ready to head through the door in the other direction. :-\\\

Click HERE to see the ones from dimecitycycles.
These appear to be very nice. :o
Sorry about the picture size, I just copied from their catalog.

had one made (see picture).

Don't look at the colours, these are temp parts that I use so that I have a running bike. Will be painted correctly soon, I hope...

If anyone is interested in the correct measurements (metric system) just let me know...

Have custom brackets on one of my bikes too.
PO machined them out of aluminum. Have drawing if anyone is interested.

picture not of the best quality but I think it kind of looks cool...

my son is a big fan of 'Cars - The King', that's why I rattle canned the bike 'light blue', thought it would be 'logic' to put in a blue LED as well...

I can understand the difference in taste ;-)

Me, I liked 'Doc' more...
