If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Digital Sync

Took my bike up to Tehachapi to my friends Kris V's house and had him digitally syn my carbs. What a cool tool. I had sync'd with mercury sticks and they looked right on. Well, they weren't. They looked way off. The tool also checks pressure in each cylinder to see how close together they are and checks for leaky valves. I was good except for the sync. Rode it around but the bike ran like a dog because of the elevation. Put in some ear plugs and cruised home. What a difference. No handle bar buzz. I know I had the bike up to at least 120 and I could see with my mirrors.
Thanks Kris!!!!!

Gene, you need to get your 1150 over to Kris's house. He'll dial it in for you. For Sure!!!!!

My powerband really kicks in about 6000. Before the sync the engine would vibrate at about 5000. Now it's smooth from start to finish. More power and better gas mileage. I didn't think the engine could run any better but it does.

Digital? You mean with your fingers?

Digital? You mean with your fingers?

Mr. chef1366,

What sync tool was he using? Do you know the make/model?

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I'll let Kris fill in that blank. All I know it's a $600 tool.

Yeah I'd be interested in knowing which tool that is for $600. I'm just ready to buy a Morgan Carbtune. It's considerably less money and though not digital, I've read a lot of very good things about it. Still, I always want the most bang for my buck and if the $600 tool is that much more accurate and versatile I'd consider owning it instead.

Hi all,it is a Motion Pro tool. motionpro.com The one I use is the big one $600+ they have two othe models and they step down in performance and accessories. they are $200+ and $100+. I will NEVER go back to the sticks:shock: and for all of you California people you can`t get the mercury sticks shipped into the state anymore due to it is considered a hazardous material[-X:roll:...so you people in Cali want to sync your stuff with out the big price come see me;) I was just on that site and other carb tools(not the expensive one) are for two cylinders and you need to buy an adapter for them so READ CAREFULLY.

is it this sucker?

Thats it, thats the money maker:-D you don`t need to buy the battery that is optional just use the bike battery. It is a 12v system.

The product description says accurate to .2 cm of vacuum. That is the same level of accuracy as a Morgan Carbtune (which is what I use)
FWIW.......yeah the Carbtune is precisely accurate as advertised. :-)

With my engine mods and the great sync my engine was too strong for the stock clutch. I had the aftermarket K&L clutch springs (advertised as 33% stronger than stock) and my clutch was breaking loose after 6500 RPMs. Plus some of my steels were a little shady. Last year I bought a complete clutch from a retired dragbike guy. V&H heavy duty springs, used steels and good fibers. I cleaned the other steels (which were in fine shape), put in the HD springs but used my fibers which still looked new and were in spec. No slippage now and I got a good three foot wheelie in third gear.

E-ticket carb sync!

E-ticket carb sync!

Hi all,it is a Motion Pro tool.....so you people in Cali want to sync your stuff with out the big price come see me;) .

Mr. Kris V,

That is a very generous offer. It's only 136 miles through the desert to your house, less than a tank of gas. I suppose I could go up 14 through Lancaster instead of taking 395 and cut out a lot of desert. It would be a great way to spend a Saturday. I'd love to meet you and take advantage of your hospitality. I'll be sure and let you know. Thanks!

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi BassCliff,It is a nice ride unless it is really hot (like this weekend) Let me know when you want to do it and I will be set up. It only takes about 10-20 minutes to do...if there is nothing else wrong.8-)
