Ah, glorious day. A hundred miles on $3.90 of gas.

A few days ago a colleague of mine picked me up in his Jeep and we traveled 15 miles to a workshop.

He had the directions to the workshop written on his windshield in dryerase marker!


Awesome!


I did that today for my ride. Normally I'll scribble some directions on a post-it note and smack it on the tank, but the dryerase marker on the inside of the windshield did pretty good. Better than the post-it note, actually.

There is a lot to be said for riding without directions. These pics are of places I likely wouldn't have found if I had used a map or directions.

Sounds like the poor man's heads up display. I like it.
In the Army we prepare reports on the windshield since they have to be in a certain format. You dont want to be looking through your pockets for it when you need help ASAP!

+1 on the mapless travel adventures.
Many places I have been I still don't know exactly where they were, certainly could not find them again. Traveling with a map, would never have found them at all.

Very VERY much can be said for traveling without directions! Last year i headed out towards CDA, Idaho through a mountain pass... I never actually made it to the city, but me and my riding buddy found a wicked mountain road pass and some hick town... even they could not point us back to a city, we ended up around 200miles north of our destination OH WELL, still have not been able to find that pass again.
