    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

do I need bigger carbs?

Hi all, After pulling down the Engine on the 1000 I found she has more history than I first thought. The pistons are after market and over size. so the next best fit is a rebore and a Wisco 1100 kit :D but do I need bigger carbys? I realise I will need to rejet but will the 1000 cv carbs do the job for an 1100. a few years ago I bored a 76 GS 750 out to 860 cc and the old carbys just couldn't cope, she never tuned well after that. when I bought the bike the service records came with it,all that was done to the bike was there from 1982 up to about 1997 (9700 km) then there is a gap untill 2001. in that time there is no mention of the rebore. I got her at about 9800 km now at 12200km inside 2 years (I like to ride a lot).

Hi That depends, If you got the money, intake rubbers and maybe air box rubbers go aset of EFE carbies but that might be too much hassle. Or try some GSX1100 CVs. The standard carbs should cope with just a rebore. I run 29mm smoothbores with a lot more work and it is built for grunt but still revs when i want her to. (11500 rpm during burn-outs untill some-one asked me what revs it does doing them, bit more carefull now.) 8O

The 1000's & the 1100's use the same size carbs, you should be fine.
