Hi all, After pulling down the Engine on the 1000 I found she has more history than I first thought. The pistons are after market and over size. so the next best fit is a rebore and a Wisco 1100 kit
but do I need bigger carbys? I realise I will need to rejet but will the 1000 cv carbs do the job for an 1100. a few years ago I bored a 76 GS 750 out to 860 cc and the old carbys just couldn't cope, she never tuned well after that. when I bought the bike the service records came with it,all that was done to the bike was there from 1982 up to about 1997 (9700 km) then there is a gap untill 2001. in that time there is no mention of the rebore. I got her at about 9800 km now at 12200km inside 2 years (I like to ride a lot).
