Hey Guys, do you have any good sources where I can get a set of double headlights for my kat? I love the look, no fairing standalone lights.

I've ordered some other stuff from these folks and was happy with the service, low shipping costs, and the product quality. They're based in Illinois.

They seem to have pretty good prices on the headlight stuff, plus some groovy looking flyscreens. They also have some wicked-looking streetfighter headlight fairings.

If you plan on running both of them on at the same time, you need to be very careful about the wattage of each light. Your charging system would struggle to handle 60+ additional watts consumption.

I would recommend running with just one on and having the second hooked up on a secondary switch - or just on the high-beam circuit.

Why would you want to do that to a Kat, when there are tons of "L"s available for that?

Those round lights would look great on a Kat. I can't wait to see the pictures of this product.

wow. those ARE good looking lights. i wish i had the scratch to try'em out on my gs :D

IMHO they look like crap. That's a classic bike you got there, please don't :(

Again I must say - IMHO.

A rock put a nice bullseye on the headlamp of the wife's T, maybe I will get some and put them on it.

bwringer, thanks for the link, they've got exactly what I need.

I'm gonna go for this look because the way a kat is built requires it to look headstrong. With no fairing a Kat looks alittle anemic with a single light.

Also to help fill the front pose I'm putting mini gauges on each side of her attached to the bike frame under the bars where the fairing frame attached, even height-wise to the cam end covers. I thinks this look will rock.

As for those that like originality, I understand. I've got everything I need to make her original overnight if I need to, including the suzy decals, but except the paint.

KRISTI'S550, I promise I'll ut up some pics before the headlight and guages and after the install.

I just put a Buell headlight setup on my GS700:

edit: apparently the forum doesn't like the dir I put the picture in

it's in http://lolinter.net/randomsh it/headlightsfxt.jpg copy/paste that and then remove the space

What kind of 700 is that Junkie? It looks kinda Katana like???????

(sorry for the hijack Esco)

1985 GS700E, the tail isn't stock though and it doesn't have any gauges on it right now
edit: aka GSX750E I guess

in prolly a week it's getting new wheels as well, just 1990 GSXF600 "Katana" stuff for now because I can't afford a GSXR front end swap (which is what I'd really like to do... but modern radials will still be a huge improvement over the stock stuff)

You could also use lights off the triumph speed triple. Personally, I like the look, and its not like he's hacking up the frame or anything.

Larger twin headlights (like on the early GSXR's) aren't quite so bad. I absolutely hate the tiny little ones though. I think a lot of street fighters with tiny lights look ridiculously comical.

I do love the double headlight look, although the small ones do look a little silly IMHO. I have never dealt with these guys before but they do have 2 sizes of headlight set-ups, I prefering the larger of the two.

I've been running dual headlights on my GK for about 3 years now, originally purchased from a streetfighter store in london, but wouldn't recommend you buy from them.

It's the first thing people comment on when they see the bike and i'm always getting people asking me where I got the lights and what kind of bike it is....

A note on the electrical, I've have had no problem with running both headlights at 60 watts each with my Electrex stator.

i'm considering large dual headlamps myself.. i haven't have very much luck finding an affordable 8'in headlap with reflector and ring. either i don't know where to look, or everyone wants 100+ dollars for one :(

The aztec site is EXPENSIVE, the link above for www.flyncycle.com is the place to go.

Come on guys, cut me some slack on the "original' "she's a classic' advice.

I understand where ya'll are coming from but I just don't like the way an original Kat looks.

My Kat is one mean lookin' momma already, and she isn't completed yet. Alot of people ask me what she is, compliments and all. That alone makes a statement for all Suzy's, among all the pretty little plastic crotch rockets and chromed out Harleys, an old Suzy can still clear a path down the road!

If it makes anyone feel better, I've got all the original stuff if I want to go original some day, and I might.
