I've just joined the gs resources site today,it's the best, i've gotten lots of useful info, thanks to all, especially basscliff, anywho my dumb-a** question is....i have a 1982 gs 750 e with 15,00 miles on it that i bought in january 2008 from a guy down the street for 600 buckeroos!! What a steal! Clean as a whistle! New tires, exhaust, battery, starts and runs like a champ. One problem, the accelerator cable was replaced, i turn the handlebars to the right and it revs to 8,00 rpms. I cleared the cable of all snags. Had it workin' good till memorial day weekend when i made sharp right turn, goin' slowly thank God, it revved and fishtailed out sending me to the pavement. Mostly road rash and cosmetics,i'm ok. I've narrowed it , down the carburator slide not going all the way down when i let off the throttle, i've tried everything including looking for the thumb screw, there ain't one.what the heck do i do? Thanx to y'all.
