A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Dumbist question ever!

So I am at work just about to order a new pectcock to replace the POS one on my bike. I figure why not get a filter and fuel line at the same time.
I am having major brain fade and cant remember what size the fuel line I need is.
I think I need 3/16" id fuel line. Yes?
In my defence I have only had one espresso this morning and that was at 5.30am 4 hours is tooo long between hits.
I am off to get a coffee now.
Thanks

Sorry, I can't help with the fuel line size, always just cut off a small piece & took it with me to the parts house & matched it up. Your new petcock chould come with a new filter.

I believe most folks here run either 5/16 or 1/4. I personally use the 5/16" blue urethane type line with no inline filter. If you do run a filter make sure it will not restrict your fuel flow.

Suzuki fuel line is 7mm. Most 5/16" type line will work but it may be loose on the petcock nipple. If you run a filter get the type with a gold stone on the inside, not a paper filter since many of these are for pressurized fuel systems and will cause a restriction on a motorcycle.

Good luck.

Really? Never heard that!

Even the generic run of the mill plastic ones? The cheapo on mine seems to dump gas quite fine when I apply a bit 'o vacuum to the petcock. Could I be missing another Gforce from fuel starvation? :-D

Thanks guys.
All sorted now.
Worst part of today....The bloody coffee machine at work is stuffed:shock:
By lunch time I had such a headache. I actually considered eating the unground beans! I guess I am an addict.
Cheers

Just for future reference, 1 expresso bean + 1/2 of a piece of Hershey's Milk chocolate = delicious!!!!
