A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Planning to get rid of the points system on my 78 GS1000. I've read all the old posts on converting to an electronic system. Dyna comes first and MSD second.

What type/model # do I get and who has the best price?

Dyna S is what you need and Z1 Enterprises is a good retailer.

Just did the install on my '78 GS750 .. easy. When I read the instructions I thought it would be a pain, but rolling up the sleeves and getting into it, it was simple and straightforward and bike fired up first time. Go for it! :)

Yes Dyna S ibnition but ill be going for Accel Coils. Just as good (if not better) and look like a standard bolt on and not a crossover from a ### harley.

Got a Dyna 2000 with ign coils, off another forum member. Starting installing it today, have figure out how to fit the Dyna 2.2 coils in the frame.

You'll just need to get the right mounting hole & play around with the order of washers on the mounting bolts to get the right height....

I had to put mine in with the leads facing forward so they looped around & back to the plugs.

Got a pic of how yours are mounted?

Nope but this is the stock set I took off...... Imagine the Dyna coil connectors for the wires are facing forward (right in this photo) & down at about 45 degrees (as they will be if you face them forward...).

Bought both my Dyna S electronic ignition and my Dyna Green coils from Z1, good pricing and great service. The coils fit right in the ignition system was simple to put in. GREAT up grades.

I ended up facing mine forward because the stock wires to the coils were too short to run all the way to the front of the coils. It really does not matter at all, the Dyna plug wires are long enough to go either way with wire to spare, you just have to attach the front plug wire before mounting the coils.
