DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello, new to site, I have a 1983 gs 750 t and would like to do away with the ignitor. Would like to use the dyna unit, but can't seem to locate one that is specified for this year. Dynatec website doesn't even specify this year/model. Any suggestions?

Greetings and Salutations!!

Hi Mr. bikebuilder2009,

Merry Christmas. I'm not an ignition expert but I think the '82 and later 750 models are all about the same in that area. Why not give Dynatek a call (or email) and see if they have a Dyna S ignition system to recommend? Let me share some GS lovin' and some GS cheer! :D

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

From what I know The later GS bikes had the timing curve in the igniter. No mechanical advance. So in order to use the Dyna II or III you would have to retrofit a mechanical advance unit, depending on your bike you may need to make a spacer for the ign cover. OR spend big bucks for a Dyna 2000

I just looked at Bike Bandit, the 83 750T has a mechanical advance on the end of the crank, same as my 1100E. The Dyna S bolted right up to my bike, with the appropriate wiring changes of course.
I used the DS3-2. The box is marked "DYNA S SUZ 550/750FOUR (ND)/850/1000/1100/1150.
So you need to pull the cover off and verify that it is a Nippon Denso ignition.

Thanks, I checked and that's what I have. I really appreciate the info. I'll order one today!

While the 3rd generation GS750 launched in 1983 (in E and ES forms), the GS750T and GS750S used the older 2nd generation 750 engine that employed a mechanical advance and standard GS ignitor. I think that DS3-2 piece should fit. Z1 Enterprises has good prices on those units plus the owner is a member here and quite helpful.

Great! Thanks for the info. I will check out Z1 about ordering one.
