A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This morning I bought one of the remaining 2 dyna III systems for my 82 GS850G directly from dyna's website. I have been reading through all of the old posts here and I have seen several mentions of a dyna S ignition. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? Also I got the dyna III for 99.00, is that a good deal? Lastly (for now) I would like to replace the coils and plug wires ect. What products would work best with my bike? I don't want to spend to much money (my wife is already pissed about the dyna III and new head light I bought today). Thanks for the help! [/img]

I think the major difference between the two is that the III has a seperate box, while the S is all one unit that sits behind the ignition cover. I don't know of any performance differences between the 2. I think $99 is a decent price. If you're going to replace the coils, get the Dyna coils.

So the differences are more asthetic than they are related to performance...what is a good price for the coils? I saw some accell coils on ebay but the seller wouldn't tell me what model number they were. This bike hasn't been on the road in about 15 yrs. I hope in runs good with the dyna system! Do you know how to post pics. in the forum? Thanks.

I think the coils go for about $150, but I'm not sure.

As for posting pics, you need to upload the pictures somewhere on the web, then in your post put the following code:
Code:

to get

Be carefull buying coils on ebay, DYna coils are the green ones, Accell has 3 ohm coils-work fine & .7 ohm CDI coils that DO NOT WORK just verify what you are buying Later style suzuki GSX/Bandit will fit & work fine as they are 3 ohms. You may be lucky getting the last Dyna ign.
I could be wrong I think the $99 special was because they are being discontunied
