A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this but thought it would be of interest to some. This was posted on the GS_Bikes forum.

I wanted to pass this on to the group, was looking for a new reg/rect
for my 81 gs1000 and found a US online dealer selling something with the
ELECTREX product in it's name (Electrex as in the promo in the GS Bikes
website) which was $10 less expensive, emailed Electrex in England
asking if this was their produce and received the following which to me
is very important in terms quality vs. potential junk and the resulting
problems:

/We used to have a distributor in the USA called Electrex USA; this
company is now called Electrosport. Electrosport copied our product
range 4 years ago and had them made in China. I believe the product
pictures on the motorcycle-superstore website are still our original
photos which probably do not resemble the unit you would receive from
Ricks Motorsport or Electrosport.

We are constantly up-dating our manufacturing procedures to ensure that
we make reliable heavy-duty products which are guaranteed for one year
from the point of sale. We have no distributors for this product in the
USA, and shall be pleased to supply you direct.

Thanks Thomas. I know I sure appreciate getting information like this.

I am confussed. This is what is in the stator papers have in them...

The Electrex unit is now made available to dealers and mail order distributors throughout the USA and Canada by:

So who is correct here? Are the Electro Sport products any good? From what I read in the stator papers, they are the answer.

suffer? quality went right out the window right along with customer service.
buying from electrosport is a mistake I will not make again.

I'll second that....

I'll second that....

I put in new stator and Reg/Rect about this time last year. BOTH failed in Aug 2007. About 6 months of riding. Not good.

After a lot of back and forth I got my Reg/Rec warrantee replacement from Electrosport. Its on the bike. However I did not bother warranting the stator. I've gotten one offa ebay and will go with that combination.

if the Reg/Rec fails again I'll go with the forum recommended honda replacement instead. Chalk up my experience to lessons learned.

Here's hoping I can ride well beyond Aug this year!!!!

I undearstand that a Honda RR will work, but what about a stator?
