A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hi i am based in England and am the proud owner of a 1982 GS1100GK. i need a new exhaust, and air filter but all the exhaust manufaturers can offer me are gs1000/850/750 systems, all available in the g format. Does anyone know whih of these are likely to fit the 1100? the same goes for the air filter. i would like to get this bike restored soon and am stuck on this problem. hope someone out there can help cheers rob

The air filter from a GS850G will fit your GK with no modification. As a matter of fact, on my GK I have a K & N air filter that I previously had installed on my 1980 GS850G.

I may be wrong on this, but I believe the GK's exhaust is unique to the GK. Still, a complete stock system meant for an 82 or 83 GS850G or GS1100G may also fit the GK, based on the fact that the frames are practically identical on these models. Clearance for the saddlebags may be a problem, though.

I second that, I have found alot of things are unique to the GK'. Some of the 4-into-1's will fit, but have to be modified to clear the bags (be a purist-don't remove them). You may try EBAY for the stock exhaust, i see them pop up fairly often. I also run the K&N on mine, they are somewhat hard to find, but as long as you have your cage from the 850, you can still find the foam element pretty commonly.

I just checked and the GK pipes are specific to the GK.
regular G pipes wont clear the saddle bags without modification.
on the plus side, the GK pipes are still available.
bike bandit has them listed at $244.72US a side
