I recently scoured Ebay for some good condition factory replacement rear turn signals to replace one of mine that was rashed.

However, when I received them, I discovered they are a different size (smaller) and the chrome parts are a 2 piece design, different than the ones on the bike that I THOUGHT were original.

I guess my question is, which are the factory ones for a 1980??

What are the smaller ones from then?? What are the years/splits for the correct sizes?

L model or ? You might want to check the parts fishe and chase the part numbers to see where the large signals were used.

1980 gs850gt.

Those large signals are used on different models. If you do some research you can figure out what other models used them and what years.

Edit: I looked at the parts fishe and found the large signals are used on the following models:

I believe the smaller ones might be from the 850, the larger ones would be from a 1000.

I never compared the signals on my '80 850G to the ones on my wife's '82 850GL, but I think they were similar. What I DO know is that several years ago, one of her signals broke off while we were on a trip in New Mexico or Colorado. Found a signal (with the bracket) from a 1000 in a junkyard. It worked well, but was consderably larger than the other signals on the 850L.

.

My 750 apparently shares signals with the 850G. I have some signals from an unknown bike, but my friend bought them for her 550. These are smaller than whats on my bike now. I'm going to guess that the smaller signals are from the 550 and 850GL models.

Thanks, Guys. I ordered another set I found on Ebay, so we'll see what I end up with. I like the larger ones so hopefully I'll end up with a pair of these in decent shape.
